Our Inspiration

How the Pioneering Campaign Began

A Vision

Wendell Berry, American novelist, poet, essayist, farmer, environmental activist, and cultural critic is a great inspiration to Ethos in his recommendations for conscientious, regenerative farming.

Mr. Berry’s poem, “A Vision”, evokes the valley Ethos Farm is located in and the initiatives that are central to our mission – preserving, regenerating, and protecting the land for future generations.

We are rejuvenating land formerly depleted by conventional and GMO farming, nourishing the community with the land’s abundance, protecting the birds and other species that reside here, planting new groves of native trees, and protecting the headwaters of the Raritan River that flow through this valley.
