Ethos Farm to Health Advisory Council

Ethos Farm to Health has assembled a diverse Advisory Board with leading professional in the fields of plant-based nutrition, primary care medicine, organic agriculture, academia, fundraising, philanthropy, public health, interdisciplinary design, law, and finance.

 

Joel Fuhrman, M.D.

Joel Fuhrman, M.D. is a board-certified family physician, seven-time New York Times best-selling author and internationally recognized expert on nutrition and natural healing. He specializes in preventing and reversing disease through nutritional methods. Dr. Fuhrman is the President of the Nutritional Research Foundation and on the faculty of Northern Arizona University, Health Sciences division. He coined the term “Nutritarian” to describe a nutrient-dense eating style, designed to prevent cancer, slow aging, and extend lifespan.

Scott Stoll, M.D., The Plantrician Project

Scott Stoll, M.D., is the co-founder of The Plantrician Project, The International Plant Based Nutrition Healthcare Conference, The International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention, and the Regenerative Health Institute, a unique collaborative project with the Rodale Institute that integrates a regenerative vision for human health, agriculture, and the environment. He is a member of the Google FoodLab, serves on the advisory board at Whole Foods for their healthcare clinics and served as a member of the Whole Foods Scientific and Medical Advisory Board.

Andrew Chignell 
Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor, University Center for Human Values, Departments of Religion and Philosophy, Princeton University

Andrew was born in Scotland, raised in the Chicago area, and has taught philosophy at Cornell and Penn.

Andrew joined the faculty at Princeton University in 2018 as Laurance S. Rockefeller Professor, teaching in Religion and Philosophy and directing the new Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion at the University Center for Human Values

Sailesh Rao, Ph.D., Climate Healers

Dr. Sailesh Rao has over three decades of professional experience and is the Founder and Executive Director of Climate Healers, a non-profit dedicated towards healing the Earth’s climate. A systems specialist with a Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, Dr. Rao worked on the internet communications infrastructure for twenty years after graduation.

Gene Baur, Founder Farm Sanctuary

Gene Baur is the President and Co-founder of Farm Sanctuary and has been hailed as “the conscience of the food movement” by Time magazine. Since the mid-1980s, Gene has worked to end factory farming and advocated for a just and compassionate food system. He is the author of two best selling books, and his work has educated millions and inspired an international farm sanctuary movement.

Michael Klaper, M.D.

Michael Klaper, M.D., is a gifted clinician who has practiced medicine for more than 40 years and is a leading educator in applied plant-based nutrition and integrative medicine.

He's also the author of Vegan Nutrition; Pure & Simple and has produced numerous videos, webinars & dozens of articles for both scientific journals & the popular press.

Dr Klaper’s Moving Medicine Forward initiative brings revolutionary ideas of disease reversal through plant-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine to medical schools across the country, bringing new hope to future doctors and our healthcare system.

Dan Purjes,
The Purjes Foundation

Dan has built several businesses from start-up to profitability but more recently and since his heart attack, he has devoted most of his time to The Purjes Foundation, supporting worthwhile causes. He executive produced a movie called, “Eating You Alive,” that dramatically demonstrates numerous reversals of dreaded chronic diseases

Dan also helped launch a peer-reviewed medical journal: The International Journal of Disease Reversal & Prevention along with Dr. Scott Stoll, the Chairman and Co-Founder of the Plantrician Project, whose mission is to educate professionals about the benefits of whole foods, plant-based nutrition.

Lawrence P. Mahmarian
River Valley Community Grains

Larry Mahmarian is one of the founding members of River Valley Community Grains in Long Valley, NJ.  Established in 2016, River Valley Community Grains mission is to use a collaborative approach to grain production with the hope of encouraging farmers to use regenerative agricultural methods and to help meet the growing demand for nutrient dense grains, local flour, “real bread” and healthy cereals in our region.

Broadloom Creative

Ben currently lives in central New Jersey and is founding architect and creative director of the NJ/NYC-based interdisciplinary design practice, Broadloom, whose diverse capabilities include design strategy, hospitality design, regenerative food systems design and agricultural master planning.

Denise Bitz, Nurse Practitioner & Lifestyle Medicine Professional

Denise Bitz is an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) She recently joined the Ethos Primary Care team.

As a dedicated advocate for animals and the environment, Denise spends her free time volunteering with organizations working to make the world a kinder and more sustainable place. Denise shares her home with her fiance, her four dogs and four cats (all rescued!)
