Farm Days Festival 2023 Details

Ethos Farm to Health is a 501 c3, non-profit founded to address the interconnected nature of how agriculture affects human health, planetary health, and our relationship with nature. We do so by producing truly nourishing food to feed our community and restoring the land – all while cultivating and empowering a new generation of farmers and physicians through our hands-on educational programming.

In 2023, our speakers shared their personal journeys and deep knowledge with us over two impactful and inspirational days. We heard from Peter Singer about the ethics of what we eat, we heard from Bob Quinn about the future of our food, the Drs. Sherzais told us about the mind-diet connection, Dr. Grega talked about hunger and satiety and why we eat what we do, Dr. Weiss shared his poignant personal journey to underscore how food IS medicine, unquestionably and definitively. Dr. Batiste gave us the unforgettable equation: Health = Resiliency/Stress, and what this has to do with why Black people live sicker and die sooner. Bob Quinn and Sara Farley both made unforgettable points about the true, high cost of cheap food, that we all pay with deteriorating health and environmental degradation. Janette Spiezio impressed upon us the importance of low waste, non-toxic living and Lianna Levine Reisner showed us how we can all be empowered to be our own best health advocates and how we can spread this message to our local and global communities. Brittany Jaroudi didn't just talk about it, but showed us how to keep cultural ties to food while pursuing a whole food plant-based lifestyle, as favorite family recipes are so transformable! The fireside chat style conversations between Dr Weiss, Rich Roll, and Senator Cory Booker, who delighted us with his surprise visit to our event, were so riveting that you could hear a pin drop! There was a powerful discussion where our panelists were asked, "If plant-based eating is the answer, what is the question?" The answers/questions that were shared were so thoughtful and full of wisdom.

Full video recordings are available above.
