Farm Days 2019

Each 2019 Ethos Farm Days event was a day-long affair that included a farm tour, a farm market bursting with fresh, regenerative produce, a lifestyle panel featuring Ethos staff interviewing a patient, and a community potluck. The cornerstone of each event was our keynote speaker, always a renowned thought leader or medical professional who educated attendees. Check out the highlights below!

Farm Days returns in 2022 for a full weekend! We will soon be announcing keynote speakers, in addition to farm tours, movement activities with Jessi and delicious food courtesy of Kellyn Foundation. Be sure to save the date for September 24 and 25, 2022, and stay tuned to our Events page for additional details!

Ethos Lifestyle Expert and Patient Panel Discussions in 2019

Sharon, who had a long career as a nurse, was experiencing a variety of symptoms prior to becoming a patient at Ethos. In addition to being treated for atrial fibrillation (a-fib), she was taking various medications including cardiovascular, low blood pressure, diabetic meds and cholesterol-lowering statins. She was taking 6 diabetic meds/day, and had struggled with her weight for years. Her experience with Ethos Lifestyle change and a whole food plant-based diet enabled her to lose a significant amount of weight, greatly reduce her blood sugar levels, and make significant progress toward getting off the a-fib medication while while continuing on the path to further health improvements.

Jim was experiencing the effects of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, elevated triglycerides, hypothyroidism, and had suffered retinal vein occlusion which is caused by blocked blood vessels and is considered the second leading cause of vision loss. He was eating a vegetarian diet for several years prior to coming to Ethos. In his first year as an Ethos patient, he chose to approach diet and lifestyle changes on his own. He lost 16 pounds over the course of a year, but was feeling stalled. After just three months of working with an Ethos Lifestyle Coach and following a whole food plant-based diet, he was able to get off blood pressure and steroid medications and lost 30 pounds! He was also able to cut out triglyceride medications and greatly reduce the possibility of further retinal vein occlusions.

Includes a bonus meditation session with Asha Gala, Ethos Lifestyle Clinical Director.

Toni, originally from Croatia, grew up eating a Mediterranean diet and carried extra weight from a young age. He was diagnosed with high cholesterol at the age of 10. Before becoming an Ethos patient, he began to experience debilitating numbness, tingling and vertigo from his neck down and was diagnosed with MS. Back and Abdominal pain and gastrointestinal issues were also plaguing him. HIs MS symptoms became so intense that he had difficulty with day to day activities - even with holding his child.  In first 30 days of his Ethos detox, he lost 28 pounds and experienced an outstanding 105 point reduction in cholesterol. He also drastically reduced his triglycerides and dangerous, abnormally-elevated oxidized cholesterol levels following an Ethos whole food plant-based diet and lifestyle. Most amazingly, he completely reversed his MS symptoms, and went off all meds! He now runs several miles daily and competes in races!

Mary Ellen was starting to experience declining health issues associated with middle age and she had concerns regarding a family history of heart disease. Following Ethos’ whole food plant-based diet and lifestyle program, she was able to significantly reduce her blood pressure, cholesterol and weight, reverse atherosclerosis and reduce carotid artery plaques. She also experienced a major achievement in reversing auto-immune responses that were being generated by Graves’ Disease. Additionally, she feels that the her dietary and lifestyle changes helped her to eliminate the brain fog she was experiencing previously.

Gwen came to Ethos with elevated blood pressure and blood sugar levels and frequent heartburn as well as a penchant for sugary, decadent foods. She had already started learning about plant-based nutrition and was eating a plant-based diet although looking to make additional lifestyle changes. Within less than a year of working with the Ethos Lifestyle team, finding a vibrant plant-based community at our potlucks, and following our whole food plant-based dietary recommendations, she lost 50 pounds and her blood pressure went from hypertensive to normal levels. Additionally, her blood sugar went from an elevated to a normal range and her heartburn symptoms eased up completely.
